Help curb carb addiction?/BED

I've gained 30 pounds this year from a binge eating disorder that I'm currently being treated for.My biggest obstacle is any sort of carb-loaded food or dessert. I give in too easily;Even if I'm not hungry, I can't resist taking a slice of chocolate cake, or eating a bowl of ice cream when I see it. I can't deprive the rest of my family from having a treat every now and then, but I'm unable to tell myself "no" to any dessert in sight. Even worse, when I give in, I can't stop. One cookie becomes 5 and one bowl of ice cream becomes the whole container. Any advice onhow to curb my cravings and jumpstart a healthy eating plan that i'll be satisfied with, thus enabling me to lose some weight?

When you want to resist you think of it ever more...so don't.Just accept the fact you love them and treat yourself once in a while and don't buy otherwise so that you are not tempted.

I must admit, audaud, that I think I may have some sort of issue with this, as well! I do believe that it is mostly "all in your head". If you decide to stop, you can do it!! Have you tried eating very healthy all week and then just allowing yourself one little treat for a job well done on the weekend? You could maybe try limiting the rest of the family to that one treat on the weekend, as well - they need to stay healthy, too. Just bring enough into the house so that everyone can have a little bit and that is that. Then it is gone, and no more temptation! I have also found that going instead for a yummy piece of sweet fruit (any kind will do) and a tall glass of water curbs the cravings a little. I really do understand how tough it can be - I ADORE sweets! You should be so proud of yourself for admitting that there is a problem and going for help - that is the first step to getting healthy!! I wish you all the best!
